Computer Components

Computer system - All the parts that make a computer work, including the hardware, software and data. This may not be a traditional computer.

Hardware - The physical parts of a computer system

Central Processing Unit (CPU) - The main component of the computer. It carries out all the processing by fetching and executing instructions.

Primary memory  - Memory that can be addressed and accessed directly by the CPU (processor)

Secondary storage - Non-volatile memory used for long-term storage of programs and data.

I/O Device (input/output device) - is any hardware used by a human operator or other systems to communicate with a computer
